You know that feeling when Monday rolls around, and you already feel behind? Like you just blinked, and suddenly, it’s chaos again?
That’s why I love Sundays.
It’s the one day that reminds me to slow down, to reset, and most importantly—to refocus on Christ before stepping into another busy week.
The Lord, in His wisdom, gave us the Sabbath not as a restriction but as a gift—a sacred invitation to slow down and reset. In Matthew 11:28, Christ tenderly calls:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Sundays remind us that true rest isn’t just about stopping work—it’s about stepping into peace, renewal, and reconnection with Him.
Why Sundays Feel Different
Life is overwhelming—there’s always another task, another obligation, another worry. But Sundays? Sundays remind me that I don’t have to do it alone.
💛 A Time to Be Still – Instead of rushing, I pause. I breathe. I remember that I am not meant to run faster than I have strength.
💛 A Time to Worship – Gathering at church, partaking of the sacrament, and feeling the Spirit fills me in ways that nothing else can.
💛 A Time to Reflect – I look back at the week and ask, Did I make time for the things that truly matter?
The Sabbath isn’t just a day—it’s a gift. It’s God’s way of telling us: Pause, my child. Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10).
How I Use Sundays to Reset
Everyone’s Sunday routine is different, but here are the small ways I make mine meaningful:
❤️ Slow Mornings – No alarms, no rush. Just a quiet moment with my thoughts and the Spirit.
❤️ Scripture & Prayer – A chance to fill my mind and heart with truth before the week pulls me in every direction.
❤️ Sunday Reflection – I ask myself: Where did I see God in my life this week? What do I need to change?
❤️ Church & Sacrament – A sacred reset that reminds me that through Christ, I can begin again.
❤️ Family & Connection – Whether it’s a heartfelt conversation or just being present with loved ones, I use Sunday to strengthen relationships.
A Loving Guide for the Week Ahead
As you step out of Sunday’s peace and into the new week, carry these gentle reminders with you—small ways to keep your heart aligned with the rest and renewal of the Sabbath.
💛 Monday – Begin with Grace
Mondays can be tough, but instead of rushing, start gently. Say a small prayer before looking at your phone. Stretch. Breathe. Know that you don’t have to tackle everything at once.
🌸 Tuesday – Look for God’s Hand
Life moves fast, but God is always present. Notice the small ways He shows up. A kind word, a beautiful sunrise, a moment of peace in the chaos—He is there.
☀️ Wednesday – Be a Light
Midweek can feel heavy, but a little love goes a long way. Send a thoughtful message, hold the door, give a genuine compliment. Be the warmth someone needs today.
🕊 Thursday – Let Go of Worry
The weekend is near, but stress can creep in. Release what you can’t control. Hand your worries to God and trust that He is already working on your behalf.
🍞 Friday – Savor the Simple Things
End the week with intention. Light a candle at dinner, say a gratitude prayer, take a slow walk. Let the small moments remind you of God’s goodness.
🌿 Saturday – Prepare Your Heart
Before Sunday arrives, create space for peace. Tidy up, prepare your heart, clear distractions so that the Sabbath can feel truly restful.
Carrying the Sabbath Into the Week
The beautiful thing about the Sabbath is that its peace doesn’t have to end when Sunday does.
The Spirit we feel, the clarity we receive, the strength we gain—it can carry us through if we let it.
It can be found in the quiet moments we create, the small choices we make, and the trust we place in God.
🕯 Take one slow breath before diving into the day.
📖 Read one scripture and let it stay with you.
🙏 Say one small prayer when you start to feel overwhelmed.
💛 Choose kindness, even when it’s hard.
Sundays remind us that peace isn’t something we chase—it’s something we choose.
So slow down. Savor the stillness. And trust that the same God who meets you on Sunday walks beside you every day.
